There is a beautiful Sanskrit word which I wanted to share on here.
Mudita
It means finding happiness and joy in the good fortune of others. In a world that is filled with competition, this concept is radical and refreshing. We’re taught to measure ourselves against others and to see someone’s else’s rise as proof of our fall. How about we redefine this entire concept?
Their win isn’t your loss and their happiness doesn’t steal from yours. Mudita reminds us that joy is meant to be shared and by celebrating others we don’t become less. We actually become more.
More grounded, more open, more connected to what matters. The more joy you allow yourself to feel for others, the more room you make within yourself to feel. Their happiness doesn’t threaten your journey, it affirms what is possible. You have it within you.
