Morning everyone,

It is 6.47am and like always I have been up for hours. I have showered and I have just sat down with my morning coffee. It has been a busy week and I am so glad it is the weekend- although I am also working today in the evening. I have actually had a good time at work- yes, shock horror- am I crazy? Maybe.. it has been busy but it feels good to be back in somewhat of a routine. I have been so incredibly tired, but I have slowly been catching up on sleep. I also feel that after a break away, I truly appreciate my profession and how much I actually enjoy caring for others.

I made some last minute plans with a friend and I am really forward to just relaxing and doing something different- I will share some details soon, but it involves coffee! This has actually reminded me of something quite interesting that someone said to me this week. I got an Uber home from the airport a few days ago and I got chatting to the driver- about all sorts of things really. He said the line: ‘never compromise on anything that brings you joy.’

I felt that; I really do. I am known to always make compromises. I think I am so used to doing it my whole life, it has just become second nature to me. I put everyone else first and myself last, and since the lessons this last year have taught me, I have been reminded to pour into my cup first. I think going away has been really beneficial for me to just reset and think about the last year and also the upcoming year.
