Water

Hey everyone,

The eve of cramming is definitely upon us. Let’s hope when the stress finally kicks in, it all falls into place. The stress is there and I am definitely being productive, although I am a bit behind because of this awful virus that is still festering. The sun is shining, and although everything looks a bit lifeless in the garden, the golden hue gives it life somewhat. I am going to miss this view looking out at the garden, in the mornings. But, I am manifesting for a new view. Not quite sure what the view is going to look like or be yet, but maybe that is the beauty in itself.

So recently, I have been reading about the concept of neural synchrony and I thought I would share a few thoughts on here. Sometimes you meet someone and, almost immediately, something inside you relaxes. Your mind quiets, your body softens, and there is a subtle but unmistakable sense of recognition, as if a part of you knew them long before your eyes ever met. This feeling connects to the idea of neural synchrony, where two people’s brains attune to each other’s rhythms in the earliest moments of an interaction. Their tone, expression, and energy fall in step with yours, and your nervous systems begin to harmonise in ways that feel effortless.

But the emotional impact of this goes far beyond biology. It feels as though you can breathe more freely around them, as though you don’t need to perform or protect or shape yourself into anything other than who you already are. There’s a softness that comes with this connection, a sense that you can put down the barriers you usually hold up with new people. At the same time, there’s an undeniable spark, an inner electricity that feels both surprising and familiar, as though meeting them has awakened something in you that had been quiet for a long time.

This feeling touches parts of the emotional memory that operate below conscious thought. Their presence might echo the warmth, safety, or understanding you’ve experienced with meaningful people from your past. The way they listen, the way they look at you, the rhythm of your conversation, these subtle cues create a sense of comfort that feels almost nostalgic, even though you can’t logically explain why. Emotionally, the experience is a blend of calmness and excitement. You feel drawn to them with a natural curiosity, yet at the same time you feel grounded, steady, and safe. It’s a rare combination: the thrill of connection paired with the reassurance of familiarity. For many people, it even carries a gentle feeling of inevitability, as though this encounter mattered before it even began.

Science calls it neural synchrony, but the human experience feels more like resonance. The sense that your inner world has met another that complements it, understands it, and somehow recognises it. It’s a quiet but powerful moment where two emotional landscapes align, creating the unmistakable impression that this connection is meaningful, even if you’ve only just met.

Interesting- isn’t it? I wonder if any of you reading this can relate to this concept? Please feel free to share some thoughts, if you do!

Back to studying for me 🙂

With love,

Amina xo
