I just wanted to come on here and write a few things for OCD Awareness Week. I often look at the traits of OCD and can relate to them as a child. Although I think since graduating, and going through life, I have learnt to control it to a degree.
Growing up I could recall having to do certain tasks ‘compulsions’ and if I did not do them then my day would not go well or something would go wrong ‘obsession.’ Thinking about it I did not really share this with my parents but my mom must have noticed it- maybe she just thought it was odd things I did as a child. I know my sister definitely noticed it.
I have included some resources for those who may need it. Mind (the mental health charity) has a lot of good resources and explanations and it is worth taking a look at the link below. There are still a lot of misconceptions and stigma around OCD and even if you cannot relate to it personally, it may just help you relate to someone you know in your life.

Please be kind to yourselves today.
With love,
Amina 🙂
